Windows 7 public beta
Windows 7 beta va putea fi descarcat de oricine, incepand de vineri 9 ianuarie. Numarul de download-uri va fi limitat la 2 milioane jumatate. Acest beta expira la 1 august 2009.
Pentru a instala Windows 7 beta ai nevoie de:
- Procesor 1GHz sau mai mare
- Memorie 1 GB sau mai mult
- Spatiu pe disc cel putin 16 GB
- Placa video cu suport pentru DX9 cu cel putin 128 MB memorie
Specificatiile se pot schimba pentru versiunea finala.
Upgrade-ul este posibil numai de la Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

Update 10.01.2009 – download-ul a fost intrerupt temporar pentru ca serverele nu au facut fata cererii.

Update 12.01.2009 – Microsoft s-a razgandit in ceea ce priveste limita de 2 milioane si jumatate downloads. Timp de doua saptamani oricine poate face download si poate obtine un key valabil pana la 01 august 2009.
